Shield International School has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art STEM Innovation Lab, a modern learning space designed to inspire students through hands-on experiences in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The new facility reflects the school’s commitment to equipping learners with 21st-century skills and preparing them for future academic and professional success.
The opening ceremony was attended by school leadership, parents, alumni, and special guests from the Ministry of Education and local tech industry. In his remarks, Head of School Mr. Kwame Ofori emphasized that “this initiative represents a bold step toward nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving — key attributes for tomorrow’s global citizens.”
The Innovation Lab is fully equipped with robotics kits, 3D printers, coding stations, and interactive smart boards. Students from Year 4 to Year 12 will benefit from weekly lab sessions aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
This milestone follows recent academic achievements, including Shield International School’s recognition as a Top Performing Cambridge Centre and the introduction of French and Mandarin as second-language options.
With this bold investment in STEM education, Shield International School continues to lead by example, shaping confident, curious, and capable learners.
